The project has produced several resources of use for Diversity training which we are making available in the Resources Section.
Toolbox of Learning Materials
Please bear with us while we add the materials.
Welcome
Yorkshire Forward has funded ‘A business case for diversity’ project in West Yorkshire with the overall objective to achieve a long term shift in management attitudes and skills by embedding principles of diversity into the psyche of the region’s managers.
A variety of compelling teaching material has been created for a range of management and leadership programmes in existence across the sub region, so that significant numbers of managers (from first line management to senior management training) are exposed on a sustainable and consistent basis to the compelling message of the business case for diversity in the workforce.
Those materials are now contained within this Toolkit to be shared with all training organisations delivering leadership and management programmes in West Yorkshire.
These learning materials have been designed and developed to support and encourage embedding equality and diversity into your leadership and management training programmes, from team leaders to senior managers.
The toolbox benefits from a variety of skills and experienced writers of equality, diversity and management programmes.
These materials can be used by facilitators with different levels of experience.
The categories of materials should be used to identify particular topic areas and levels i.e. First Steps, Next Steps and so on, and help you to pick out topics and activities. You can mix different activities, case studies and stories and use the further resources section to enhance your programme.
This section of materials is intended for use by trainers as an early session in a leadership and management development programme. The materials are also appropriate for people who have management experience but no formal management training.
This section of materials is intended for use by trainers as an intermediate session in a leadership and management development programme. The materials are appropriate for those with significant experience and/or with some formal management training.
This section of materials is intended for use by trainers with middle managers or those operating at that level who may be newly appointed or have had some experience in post.
This section of materials is for use by trainers with leaders and managers who have a high level of skill and experience and are therefore able to handle the concepts of these materials, debate and challenge.
6 Support for Strategy Planning
This section of materials is for use by trainers with senior leaders and managers who are responsible for developing and implementing the strategy for their organisations.
Some useful additional resources that can be used in conjunction with the learning materials. They include icebreakers, an overview of key legislation and a glossary of terms, quizzes and training evaluation forms.
Using stories and ‘story-based activities’ as part of your own bank of resources can be a powerful tool to help you achieve your learning outcomes more effectively
Can be used as a written or oral account of situations. These Case Studies are all within the public domain. Delegates can be asked individually or in small groups to analyse and answer questions about themselves.
Extra resources, including piloting case studies added since the Toolbox was first distributed.
